Portside Arts Center started their Upholstery class a little over one year ago and it has been booming ever since! This class was started by community suggestion and soon developed into one of our staple classes offered. We just opened up a 5 week Saturday workshop from 10am-2pm focusing solely on dinning room and kitchen chairs. All of our Upholstery classes are taught by John Price who has over 28 years of experience. It wasn't easy finding John, it took us a few months to hunt down a professional who was willing to teach this dying trade. This class is a DIY furniture renaissance and if your interested in learning how to "Do It Yourself" check us out at www.portsideartscenter.org

Check out the AWESOME RECYCLED RIBBON EARRINGS the girls made in Girl Power last night with teacher Ginger Metzger!!!! The girls worked their little fingers off Thursday night in the girl power arts and crafts class. They wove little pieces of different colored ribbon into accordion squares then fastened them onto earring backs. The earrings look professional and the girls can wear them for ever and ever!
