Using Line to Convey Emotion
Saturday April 2nd 2pm - 5pm During the three hour workshop, students will learn the difference between abstract and representational art, and assess the way the use of lines effect their interpretation of a work of art. Students will create a painting in which they experiment with different line weight, textures, and layering in alignment with an emotion they are trying to portray. In addition to the art lesson and project, students will play a fun and educational ice breaker art game, as well as have a final critique as they share what they've created with their peers! |
The Power of Color Saturday April 9th 2pm - 5pm Teens will explore how color theory and psychology interact in different creative environments during this three hour workshop. Students will be encouraged to explore introspection and self - reflection as a part of the brainstorming and art making process. They will learn about how the use of color conveys different emotions, and create a self portrait or still life painting in which they select colors that are evocative of the message they want to make. In addition to the art lesson and project, students will play a fun art themed game and have a final critique in which they share their work with fellow students! |
